Peter Obi calls on Labour Party Caucus in NASS to oppose Tinubu’s directive on Fubara’s removal.

Peter Obi, former Governor of Anambra State and Labour Party’s Presidential candidate in the 2023 election has sent a message to Labour Party members in the National Assembly.
He urged them to oppose the removal of Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.
In a press statement shared on his verified Facebook account, Obi stated that he has refrained from commenting on lawmakers’ activities to allow them to focus on their duties. However, he found it necessary to speak out due to the questionable circumstances surrounding Fubara’s removal.

He stated:

However, at this critical juncture — following 26 years of a deteriorating democratic process marked by disregard for educational qualifications for electoral positions, massive rigging, and now the unconstitutional removal of elected officeholders — I find it necessary to address you. These unconstitutional actions have far-reaching negative implications for our democracy and the will of the people.
