Presidency Responds to Lukman’s Criticism on Nigeria’s Hardship.
The Presidency responded strongly to former APC National Vice Chairman Salihu Lukman’s criticism of the current administration. Lukman had claimed that each Nigerian administration has deteriorated progressively, asserting that President Bola Tinubu’s administration is on track to be worse than his predecessors.
Lukman expressed disappointment over what he sees as worsening governance since President Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure and lamented the lack of structured opposition planning for the 2027 elections. He criticized opposition leaders for not taking decisive actions to challenge Tinubu’s administration and accused them of being embroiled in internal conflicts instead of uniting to offer a viable alternative.
In reaction, the Presidency, through Special Adviser Bayo Onanuga, dismissed Lukman’s comments, stating that the administration remains focused on governance and reform. Onanuga emphasized that the results of the President’s reforms will speak for themselves, and they are not distracted by critics.
