The presidency has lambasted Former Labour Party (LP) presidential running mate Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed stating that he is out of Tinubu’s league and is no match for the president.
Sunday Dare, Tinubu’s Special Advisor on Media and Public Communication, made this comment in response to Datti’s statement that Tinubu should not bother rerunning for the presidency in 2027.
The former running mate of the Labour Party had previously stated on a television programme that Tinubu’s time is over and that the president and the ruling APC, have every reason to lose in 2027.
Debunking the statement, Dare compared Datti’s comments to the charlatan “prophets'” forecasts for the new year that never materialize.
According to the statement signed by Dare, he claimed that the theories would have been the reason why people like Peter Obi would have been president.

Dare further stated that Datti has decided to go into uncharted territory.
The statement reads partly: “Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed’s “illogical logic” was all over the place in his recent interview with a television channel.
“Listening to Yusuf Datti Baba- Ahmed spurn his postulations about the political future of Nigeria and that of the incumbent President is like listening to the new year predictions of charlatan ‘prophets’ which never come through. Yusuf Baba Ahmed and his co-traveller Peter Obi are indeed a “double whammy“ in the Nigerian political space.

“He chose to base his political calculations on President Bola Tinubu not winning a second term given his antecedents and because Nigerians will decide at the polls among other things. He conveniently avoided the substance of performance and capacity,
“Unfortunately, he chose to walk into a lane he was unfamiliar with and chose to confront a politician he is no match for.”
Additionally, the Presidency emphasized that Tinubu would make his ambitions for a second term known when the time was appropriate.
