Former Rivers State Head of Service, George Nwaeke who resigned just after Admiral Ibas resumed office has debunked reports that he was kidnapped and compelled to grant an interview yesterday.
George Nwaeke, the former Fubara appointee, clarified that he voluntarily traveled to Abuja to report himself and the happenings in Rivers state to security agencies.
The former HoS in Rivers State in an interview yesterday made some shocking revelations, discrediting Governor Fubara , further accusing him of being responsible for the crisis in the state.
Recall that Nwaeke’s wife had reported him missing, stating that she was unaware of her husband’s whereabouts. In a previous video, she was seen frantically making a phone conversation suspected to be with Gov Fubara, stating that her husband was in trouble.
She suggested that her husband may have been kidnapped and forced to grant an interview , adding that he might have resigned as the Rivers head of service under duress
She said “When he got to Abuja, he called that he had landed. I said, ‘Thank God’,” she recounted.
“The next thing I saw this night: people were calling me and said he got an interview.
I said, ‘What interview? Interview for what?’ Not until I saw things flying on the internet that he granted an interview. What happened? I said, ‘That is not my husband. That is not my husband.’”
This was coming after the former Fubara appointee had granted an interview with press men, making incriminating statements about Gov Fubara.
However, another video showed Nweke claiming to have lodged at Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja.
He revealed his intention to visit all headquarters of security agencies in Abuja to report the Rivers state issues that have been troubling him.
He said: “My name is Frank Nwaeke and I’m in Transcorp in Abuja. I came in here this morning from Port Harcourt to meet the security agencies to report myself and things that happened in the state that is making me to feel sick.
“Actually, I was the Head of Service until Monday when I resigned because of the things that are happening.
“After the press interview I granted, I just saw a video of my wife trending, where they went to feed her with all kinds of fallacies that I have been kidnapped.
“I want to clear this that I’m not kidnapped, I’m in Abuja, this is Transcorp Hotel where I’m lodging. They told her I was kidnapping and they wrote a script for her to say all sorts of things.
“I want to put this straight, I’m the head of Service and I’m on oath; my wife does not know what happens in my office – it’s only my domestic or social matters that we discuss.
“I want to clear the air that I’m safe and fine, I’m in Abuja; and by tomorrow morning, I’m going to security agencies to report myself.
“My coming to Abuja was based on the fact that Abuja is where all the headquarters of security agencies are housed. I came here and I think I’m safe to make this report here.”
Following this, Governor Fubara has fired back at the Ex Rivers head of service stating that George Nwaeke has been compromised and forced to lie against him (Fubara)
