The kingdom of Saudi Arabia has announced a restriction on 14 countries including Nigeria. This visa ban will restrict Nigerians from applying for new short-term visas effective, April 13, 2025.
Other countries listed include; Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Sudan, Ethiopia, India, Tunisia, Yemen, Jordan, Iraq, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.

The Saudi Arabia restriction applies to a number of visa categories, including single-entry and multi-entry business visas, tourist e-visas, and family visit visas.
Saudi Arabia authorities issued a warning stating that Nigerians with valid Saudi visas may stay in the Kingdom until April 13, 2025, but they must leave by April 29 at the latest.
The action, according to the Saudi government, is “part of ongoing efforts to regulate travel ahead of the upcoming Hajj season.”
In February 2025, Saudi authorities announced that they had temporarily suspended one-year multiple-entry visas indefinitely and limited travel from these 14 countries to 30-day single-entry visas.
They also provided an update on guidelines for Umrah travel logistics, stating that the issuance of Umrah visas will start annually on the 14th of Dhu Al Hijjah and end on the 1st of Shawwal.

“The Kingdom has repeatedly emphasised the importance of obtaining the appropriate visa type for religious travel and warned of legal consequences for those who fail to comply,” the Saudi authorities quoted in Gulf News.
