Senate disowns controversial viral footage showing man kissing woman, slams false claims of senatorial involvement.
The Nigerian Senate has refuted claims that a man seen kissing another woman in a video is a current senator.
This denial followed the emergence of a viral video on Tuesday, which showed a man, whom some social media users identified as Senator Yau, engaging in romantic behavior with an unidentified woman in what was said to be an office within the National Assembly complex in Abuja.

The video prompted a flurry of reactions on social media, with many commenters asserting that the man in the footage was indeed Senator Yau.
However, the Senate, represented by its spokesman and Chairman of the Senate Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Senator Yemi Adaramodu, has distanced both the National Assembly and Senator Yau from the incident.
In an interview with Sahara Reporters, Adaramodu stated, “The man in the video is not a serving senator in the Nigerian Senate. That video has been circulating online for the past four to five years. I had seen it even before I joined the Senate, and I encountered it while I was in the House of Representatives.”
He further explained, “I can show you around 10 offices to demonstrate that there is no architectural design like that in the Senate. No one resembles that individual. You are welcome to visit the Senate; I will grant you access.

My conclusion is that it is false to claim that the man in the video is a senator or that the incident took place in the Senate. That is not the Senate, and that person is not one of our senators.”
He emphasized, “There is no location like that in the Senate, and the individual in the video does not match the appearance of any senator we know.”
