The Senate on Thursday adjourned into a closed session following the reading of a letter by President Godswill Akpabio from President Bola Tinubu.

The session was convened after Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele moved a motion pursuant to Order 135 of the Senate Standing Orders, which was seconded by Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro.

Recall that on Tuesday March 18, Tinubu in a nationwide broadcast had declared a state of emergency in Rivers state following the lingering political crisis and uproar in the state.
