The presidency dismissed claims made by the media that Vice President Kashim Shettima was barred from the Presidential Villa recently. This is totally fabricated; this is a wild expression of wishful thinking.According to linda ikeji blog

In a statement released on Saturday, April 19, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications (Office of the Vice President), Stanley Nkwocha, could not identify which solo blogs had initiated ‘the deliberate and well-planned campaign of falsehood’ against causing confusion and disunity within the Presidency.

‘The tip of the iceberg in this string of misinformation is that the Vice President has refused entry into the Villa. This is the latest pathetic effort to traduce the person and the office of the His Excellency, Vice President Kashim Shettima, GCON. To clear the air, NOT A SINGLE THING LIKE THAT EVER HAPPENED.”

Indeed, Nkwocha dismissed such a baseless argument as regarding armed military barricades over restricted access to the Vice President as being removed from reality far enough for it to only be entertained by those unfamiliar with the inner workings of the Nigerian government.Local events

”The latest by some obscure blogs purporting that the Vice President is cut off by barricades of armed military personnel into the Presidential Villa is not just a wildest manifestation of wishful thinking; it rather closes the chapter that has left the vendors of the tales exhausted of ink and even imagination. Way beyond reality, this tale can be entertained only by those unfamiliar with the workings in the Nigerian government.”

It added that earlier in the week, the Presidency had also dispelled news reports involving campaign posters showing President Bola Tinubu’s and Vice President Shettima’s images for the elections of 2027 as just another desperate effort at heating up the political atmosphere.

”An understandable, although regrettable, view the mischief-makers have: the strength of the bond and goodwill between the President and Vice President,” Nkwocha stated. “These fairy tales serve no purpose beside creating mischief and distraction.”
