President Bola Tinubu’s vacation ended earlier than expected, and he will return to Abuja on Tuesday, September 16, to resume official duties.
In a statement released on Monday, Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Advisor on Information and Strategy, confirmed the development.
He said, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has concluded his work vacation ahead of schedule and will return to Abuja on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, to resume official duties.”

Recall that on September 4, 2025, the President left Nigeria for France as part of his annual vacation. His original plan was to alternate between France and the UK during the trip the trip.
While in Paris, Tinubu held a private luncheon with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace.
According to reports, the leaders discussed important areas of bilateral cooperation and decided to fortify alliances in the interest of achieving both global stability and mutual prosperity.
Since taking office in May 2023, Tinubu has made seven trips to Paris; this is however his first since the BRICS summit in July and the TICAD9 in Japan in August.

The President has travelled abroad 15 times in 11 different nations in the first nine months of 2025.
These consist of yearly leaves, presidential inaugurations, bilateral meetings, and high-level summits.
Tinubu began his diplomatic tour on January 6 by travelling to Accra, the capital of the Republic of Ghana, to witness President-elect John Dramani Mahama’s inauguration on January 7.

From January 12 to 16, he travelled in the United Arab Emirates for the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Summit, where he met with Gulf authorities and investors on a side-by-side basis to discuss trade and energy cooperation.
More recently this month, he again embarked on a working vacation to the United Kingdom and France, his third visit to Paris this year and second to London.
