    A man named Mohammed Sani has been arrested for allegedly beating his pregnant wife, Hauwa Isah, to death in the Limawa area of Minna, the capital of Niger State.

    This incident of domestic violence reportedly took place on Tuesday, June 3, as reported by Sahara Reporters. A local resident, Musa, claimed that by the time neighbors intervened, Hauwa had already succumbed to her injuries.

    It was revealed that the husband had a history of domestic abuse, which was confirmed by Hauwa’s father. The grieving father expressed his pain, stating, “This is not the first time he has harmed my daughter. We warned him several times, but he didn’t stop.

    Now he has killed her.”

    The state Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the situation, stating that the suspect has been arrested for culpable homicide. He explained that on June 3, 2025, at around 10:30 PM, a distress call was received reporting that 24-year-old Hauwa Isah from Bani Hashimu Estate, Limawa ‘A’ Minna, was found lifeless on the floor of her home, with blood stains present.

    Police officers from A Division Minna quickly responded to the scene and discovered Hauwa’s body on the floor. She was taken to General Hospital Minna, where she was pronounced dead, and it was confirmed that she was approximately nine months pregnant. Mohammed Sani, 31, who shares the same address, is suspected of committing the act based on allegations of domestic violence made by neighbors.

    He has been arrested, and the case will soon be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Minna.
