The presiding pastor of Genesis Global Church, Prophet Israel Ogundipe, has cautioned Christians against paying first-fruit offerings, warning that it should not come at the cost of their personal or family well-being.

Popularly known as Prophet Israel Ogundipe, he said the warning became necessary following concerns raised about the financial pressure many believers experience due to first-fruit contributions, especially at the beginning of the year.
“Because it is the first month of the year, many people usually bring this offering, and a lot of them are worried about how they would cope financially if they pay,” Prophet Israel Ogundipe said.
Prophet Genesis recalled a recent case of a church member who had N500,000 but whose mother also needed money to pay rent.
“He wanted to use the money to pay first fruit because he had heard that those who don’t pay would not receive God’s blessings.
“When it got to my table, I told him that God would not want his mum to live on the street or be chased out of her house, and that God does not want His children to be in discomfort,” Prophet Isreal Ogundipe said.
