Regina Daniels Drug Test Controversy Sparks Legal Threat Against Ned Nwoko
Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has threatened to take legal action against her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, over his defamatory allegations linking her to the use of hard drugs.
The actress made this known in a video that was shared on her Instagram page on Wednesday, in which she addressed the accusations made about her in recent months by Senator Ned.
As seen in the video, the actress presented laboratory test results from a California hospital to clear the air on the hard drug use claims. The test results showed that the actress tested negative for several hard drugs and that the only substance associated with her was ecstasy, popularly known on the streets as molly.
She further explained that she would no longer allow these damaging narratives to linger around her name, as she is a public figure with a bright future ahead of her, especially at the beginning of a new year. Regina Daniels stated that the accusations were aimed at destroying her image and brand, adding that she felt compelled to speak her truth for the sake of her supporters and her children.
Daniels said, “Hi everyone, it’s Regina Daniels. I don’t believe that I will sit in front of this camera again trying to clear up an accusation that was sent to destroy me.
“It’s a new year, and with it came a moment of clarity. I realised that there are certain narratives I can no longer allow linger over my name as a public figure. I also realised how many people love me, support and believe in me. And I will never let that love or loyalty to be met with shame or doubt. I mean, tell me what better way to tear down a brand than drugs.
“Still, I’m endlessly grateful for the opportunity to speak my truth. Taking this test is not about clearing my name, is about giving a strong, and confident voice to those who believes in me. And above all, to give my children something priceless, pride, that when they grow up to the proper age of understanding, they will know that their mother was never a drug addict.
“And please note, I was never on any hard drugs or any nonsense fabricated online. I will sue, I will definitely sue at the appropriate time, a honestly speaking, the only drug I was associated with was ecstasy. Believe it or not there’s a reason for that.”
These clarifications made by her come nearly three months after Senator Ned Nwoko reportedly accused her of drug use, but according to some social media users, it’s enough time for the drugs to clear out of her system before she goes in for a drug test.
The actress had earlier shared a video showing her undergoing a drug test at a California hospital, further fueling public interest in the Regina Daniels drug test controversy.
