Rivers State governor, Siminalayi Fubara has revealed that the peace efforts of some individuals in the state are gradually yielding the desired results.
Nelson Chukwudi, the governor’s chief press secretary, said in a statement on Saturday that true progress could only flourish in a climate of harmony and stability.

Fubara made this statement at a civic gathering conducted at Government Secondary School in Akabuka community, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area, in celebration of his Deputy Governor, Prof. Ngozi Odu.
The governor stated he was inspired by increasing indications of harmony and reconciliation throughout the state and urged people to completely embrace peace in order for development initiatives to succeed.

“We can’t develop in an environment of chaos. We can’t attract any project to Akabuka when there is a problem.

“Our disposition has always been towards maintaining peace because it is the only way we can move forward,” he said.
