Rivers Crisis: No solution will stop impeachment move against Fubara -Lawmaker

The spokesperson for the Rivers State House of Assembly, Enemi George, has revealed that there may be no solution to stop the impeachment move against Governor Siminalayi Fubara by members of state house.

George made this claim on Thursday during an interview on “Politics Today,” a Channels Television program monitored by our correspondent.

Additionally, he stated that claiming that the Rivers State House of Assembly Assembly’s actions are solely motivated by politics undermines the institution.

He claims that the governor has repeatedly committed the same offence by exploiting public funds as if they were his own.

“I doubt if there is a political solution to stop the impeachment move against Fubara because we have had too many political solutions. What’s the need for political solution when he would say and do the same thing again?

“Even if you want to play politics, you do that according to the law, within the confines of the law. If you allow yourself to breach the constitution you can’t blame anybody the consequence of your action. But right now, what we are talking about is the law.

“And I’m sure wherever president Bola Tinubu is, he will feel very insulted by all these because he’s a human being like you and I.

“The president went through hell to assemble stakeholders to broker this peace and the governor stumbled over it again and reneged it. You can’t keep breaking the law and expect the president to come to your rescue,” the lawmaker said.
