About 17 members of the House of Representatives have defected from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC).
The development was announced on Tuesday by the Speaker of the House, Abbas Tajudeen, during plenary.
He also revealed that Leke Abejide defected from the ADC to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Among the lawmakers who moved to the NDC are Yusuf Datti, Uchenna Okonkwo, Adamu Wakili, Thaddeus Attah, George Ozodinobi, Lilian Orogbu, Oluwaseyi Sowunmi, Peter Aniekwe, Mukhtar Zakari, George Oluwande, and Munachim Umezuruike.

Others include Emeka Idu, Jesse Onuakalusi, Ifeanyi Uzokwe, Afam Ogene, and Abdulhakeem Ado.
The wave of defections comes just a day after former presidential candidates Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso also left the ADC for the NDC.
Both Obi and Kwankwaso have since reiterated their commitment to pursuing a better Nigeria under the platform of the NDC.
