Asari-Dokubo makes bold move move: cuts ties with Yoruba politicians, declares powerful alliance with the North.

In a video shared on social media on Monday, Asari-Dokubo declared his new political alignment with Northern politicians, whom he described as consistent and respectful, unlike their Yoruba counterparts.

“The Yorubas have betrayed us. After all we did, they turned their backs on us,” he said.

Reflecting on past alliances, Asari-Dokubo expressed dismay that the sacrifices made by the Ijaw for southern solidarity were not reciprocated.

He further referenced previous elections and governance battles as moments when the Ijaw stood firm for the South, only to be abandoned.

“I felt apologetic for our fathers who were not wrong in forming alliances with the North. As young men, we will now continue that same alliance,” he stated.

Moving forward, Asari-Dokubo vowed “As of today, I will now work, work, work and form alliance with the North to crush out opposition,” citing recent political realignments and what he perceives as lack of loyalty from the South-West as reasons for his decision.
