Iran has announced that the Strait of Hormuz is now “completely open” to all commercial vessels.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi disclosed this in a statement on X .
Similarly, he said that the decision to open the strategic waterway aligns with the terms of the Lebanon ceasefire agreement.
He said, “In line with the ceasefire in Lebanon, the passage for all commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz is declared completely open for the remaining period of the ceasefire.”

Following the announcement, oil prices fell below $90 a barrel.
Recall that, that Israel and Lebanon reached a 10-day ceasefire on Thursday.
President Donald Trump in a statement earlier, revealed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Lebanon’s President Joseph Aoun met in Washington on Tuesday for the first time in 34 years.
Despite Pakistan’s assertion that Lebanon was covered by the ceasefire deal, Mr. Netanyahu’s office declared that the ceasefire does not apply to the nation.
However, on the latest agreement between the US and Iran, Trump confirmed that the strait was “completely open and ready for business and full passage.
He said in a Truth Social post that “It will no longer be used as a weapon against the World!”.
Trump also added that the US naval blockade of Iran would “remain in full force” until Iran reached a deal with the US to end the war.

Mr. Trump further stated that an agreement to stop the US-Israeli assault on Iran was “very close,” with the next round of negotiations scheduled to take place in Islamabad.
Additionally, he said that an extension of the two-week truce may not be necessary if nothing hinders progress.
