The first collapse of the national grid since 2025 in Nigeria occurred just ten days into the New Year whilst plunging many parts of the country into a blackout.<\/p>\n

A report from the Nigerian System Operator portal (niggrid.org) said that the event occurred at 1:56 pm.<\/h2>\n

Then the portal continued, “Restoration commenced. Currently generating 302 MW as of 02:40 pm”.
\nEnergyTimePod explains the collapse of the National Grid to the reader: “We know the misperception your experience has created.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd two truths may well coexist here: A small explainer: There’s really just two forms of national grid collapse. Partial even collapse: This is where some areas of the nation still have light, even if the entire nation has experienced the collapse.<\/p>\n

This accounts for a 13th collision in the last 13 months. It fell 12 times throughout 2024.<\/p>\n
