Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has stated that he is not sure about participating in the 2027 presidential ambition.<\/p>\n

Atiku, who has contested for the presidency six times, stated this in a broadcast interview that is yet to be aired for a television show called\u00a0 Untold Stories with Adesuwa Giwa-Osagie.<\/p>\n

Atiku’s statement came shortly after he announced the creation of a coalition of opposition leaders working to remove the President Bola Tinubu-led All Progressives Congress (APC) government.<\/p>\n

When asked if he planned to run for president in the next election, Atiku responded:<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cI don\u2019t know because there has to be, first of all, a viable platform, more than any other time in the political history of this country, particularly since the return of democracy.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

The former Vice president, however, did not entirely say the possibility of contesting in the 2027 election, emphasizing the need for Nigeria to have a good leader.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have not seen Nigeria in dire need of, you know, an experienced and credible leadership than this time.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cWe had a similar, you know, what would I say, merger in 2014. About four of us or is it three? We all ran for president and one of us emerged, and we all supported the one who emerged, and he won,\u201d he said.<\/em><\/p>\n

There are speculations that Atiku might extend his support to the former Labour Party Presidential candidate, Peter Obi and former governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-rufai for the 2027 election.<\/p>\n

He also shared the reasons why he did not select former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike as his running mate<\/a> in the 2023 election.<\/p>\n
