Nigerian political analyst and former presidential campaign spokesperson of Atiku, Segun Sowunmi has stated that\u00a0 Labour party presidential candidate Peter Obi should return to PDP to be able to secure and win the presidential ticket ahead of the 2027 polls.<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Sowunmi who was also an Ogun state governorship candidate in 2023, made this revelation during a podcast interview session known as Mic On<\/a>. He said “If I were Peter Obi, I will come and take that ticket, I’ll make a very strong stake for that ticket”<\/p>\n

Speaking on the interview, he said ” I’m a PDP man but they can sauce in their own stew, I’m interested in stability. The APC as a political party, I wish them stability”,<\/p>\n

“When they won the election in 2015, although I was not part of them, but I was happy for them, because I thought okay Nigeria will have another stable political party and they have won 3 elections too which is not bad,<\/p>\n

So when they get to the huddle of what they’re going to do with their presidential election, its their business, they will take that decision.”<\/p>\n

Sowunmi went on to say ” I am interested in saying very clearly, the pathway for the PDP of Nigeria to win the next election is very clear to me, its unambiguous”.<\/p>\n

He stated that during the 2023 elections, PDPs votes were fragmented into Peter Obi’s votes and that of Kwakwanso citing that this happened because Peter Obi left the PDP. He added that if the votes were joined back together and not fragmented, PDP would have won the election.<\/p>\n

He further disclosed that the PDP is not under any obligation to keep giving the presidential ticket to one individual adding that the PDP was birthed in Alex Ekwueme’s bedroom.<\/p>\n

“I really do not see why the Igbos, and the southern leaders and other leaders of thought in the country especially in the PDP cannot say Okay we accept we owe a South-Eastern debt, here’s the ticket. If Peter can do six point something million all by himself, no governor, no nothing can you imagine what he’ll do with 12 governors?” He stated<\/p>\n
