2027: APC, PDP, LP all involved in coalition to unseat Tinubu- Atiku<\/strong><\/p>\n

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar<\/a> has announced plans to form a significant political alliance with the Labour Party (LP), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in order to challenge President Bola Tinubu’s “incompetent and inefficient” administration.<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Atiku announced the news in Abuja while speaking to a group of Kogi East Senatorial Zone stakeholders led by Simon Achuba, a former Kogi State deputy governor.<\/p>\n

In addition, the meeting’s main objectives were to promote unity in the North and combat regional insecurity.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the ceremony, Atiku blamed the Tinubu administration for lacking the political will to handle Nigeria’s deteriorating security situation and voiced his great concern about it.<\/p>\n

Recalling his time as vice president in the early stages of the Boko Haram insurgency, Atiku emphasised how his administration’s strong leadership had momentarily put an end to the menace.<\/p>\n

In his words, \u201cHow can leaders remain indifferent while their citizens are being killed? Such apathy is the height of irresponsibility for any political leader, anywhere.<\/p>\n

\u201cI hold our current leadership accountable for the widespread insecurity plaguing our nation. There is a lack of political will.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet me remind you of when Boko Haram first emerged in 2002, during our time in office. The president summoned me and asked, \u2018Mr Vice President, what should we do about this?\u2019 It began in Yobe. I advised him to call the service chiefs and set a clear deadline: if they couldn\u2019t quell the insurgency, they should resign.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe president summoned the service chiefs, I was present, and issued firm orders. Within weeks, the insurgents in Yobe were subdued, and the threat did not resurface until after we left office.\u201d<\/p>\n

He stress the importance of a united front against the current administration, adding that, \u201cWe are forming a coalition, all major political parties, including the APC, the PDP<\/a>, and the Labour Party, are involved. This is the only way forward to confront such an incompetent and inefficient government. I assure you of my understanding and full support.\u201d<\/p>\n

Simon Achuba, the delegation’s leader, expressed Atiku’s worries by bemoaning the widespread violence, abductions, and devastation of Northern villages.<\/p>\n

He called on northern leaders to take charge and promote regional unity, accusing the federal government of not upholding its constitutional obligation to maintain peace and security.<\/p>\n
