Chief Bode George, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has brushed off accusations that the opposition party is no longer relevant, calling individuals who make such claims “first-class dreamers.”<\/strong><\/h5>\n

In response to mounting rumours over the PDP’s<\/a> power and recent defections ahead of the general elections in 2027, he made the statement Monday during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today.<\/p>\n

Despite the setbacks, George maintained that the PDP is still the most well-organised party in the nation, with more established political machinery than its competitors.<\/p>\n

He said, \u201cNo way; those are dreamers. I\u2019m telling you they are first-class dreamers.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn political management, ownership structure, camaraderie\u2014what we have in the PDP, they don\u2019t have. Why do I keep calling our party the Iroko political party of Nigeria? because the taproot is so deep-rooted.<\/p>\n

Chief George added that the internal crisis that had shook the opposition was resolved as a result of the agreement made at the party’s 100th National Executive Committee meeting. As the PDP gets ready for the general elections in 2027, he reassured Nigerians that the party is back on course and unified.<\/p>\n

In his words,\u00a0\u201cLet me reassure Nigerians that there\u2019s no organisation in the world where you won\u2019t have a crisis. If you have disagreements, the more sensible thing to do is get back to your family, lock the doors and tell yourself some truth, debate and discuss, but in the end you must come out united, and that\u2019s what we\u2019ve achieved.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is a measure of the competence of members of the party. We started pretty rough, but in the end we were able to meet together, resolve these differences, and never again are we going to allow ourselves to be dragged by partisanship or misinformation.<\/p>\n

\u201cFrom July 1 till 2027, we will never have this kind of experience in our party. We are telling everybody, Welcome back home, and your house is ready to receive all of you.\u201d<\/p>\n
