Nigerians in Ghana have been strongly accused of serious involvement in rampant prostitution and ritual killings in the country, which has sparked protests from some Ghanaians.<\/strong><\/h5>\n

In a widely shared video on Tuesday, the demonstrators were seen holding signs with words like “Armed robbery and violent attacks must stop,” “Mass prostitution is endangering our health,” “Who defends Ghanaians’ rights and freedom?” “Nigerians are kidnapping and using people for rituals,” and “Our kids are going missing because of Igbos,” among other statements.<\/p>\n

A photograph of a man who was allegedly murdered by a Nigerian in the Accra region of the nation was also on display.<\/p>\n

A woman in her mid-30s stated in the video that Nigerians must leave their country due to their “anyhow attitude”.<\/p>\n

\u201cNigerians must go because you can\u2019t be in someone\u2019s country and be doing anyhow. Nigerians must go,\u201d she yelled.<\/p>\n

According to another demonstrator, Nigerians have taken over their main marketplaces and are committing various forms of evil in their country.<\/p>\n

This is coming only few weeks after an unusual installation of an Igbo king in the country caused heavy protest.<\/a><\/p>\n

Numerous demonstrations and public uproar were sparked throughout the nation over the installation of Eze Chukwudi Ihenetu, a Nigerian traditional leader, as \u201cEze Ndi Igbo Ghana\u201d (King of the Igbo People in Ghana).<\/p>\n

\u201cThese Igbo, they are in every part of the country and have targeted our markets. Not just Igbo, Nigerians are in almost every village, and our laws have not allowed foreigners to engage in real dealings. They are perpetrating evil in our country. They even have a Igbo king in our country. They have hijacked our lands. It is just a matter of time; we will conquer them and take over our country,\u201d he stressed.<\/p>\n

Remember that in 1983, the Nigerian government, led by President Shehu Shagari, issued an order compelling almost two million unauthorised immigrants, many of whom were Ghanaians, to depart the nation. This event is commonly referred to as “Ghana must go.”<\/p>\n

The Ghanaian government has not yet responded to enquiries about the situation and the hardship of its citizens over the repatriation of Nigerians, regardless of their status, as of the time this story was filed.<\/p>\n
