Comrade Austin Ozobo, the National President of the Ijaw Peoples Development Initiative (IPDI)<\/a>, has stated that there is nothing to celebrate in the return and resumption of Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.<\/strong><\/h5>\n

\"Fubara\"<\/p>\n

\u201cActually we are not celebrating it; there is nothing new to be celebrated,\u201d Ozobo said in an interview with newsmen in Warri.<\/em><\/p>\n

He said the Rivers governor\u2019s suspension by President Bola Tinubu was \u201cillegal, undemocratic and unconstitutional\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cAs a civilian president, he (Tinubu) does not have the constitutional right to suspend a democratic elected governor.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cWe are just advising Mr. President to stop all this lawlessness because what he has done could set a bad precedence and it could cause tension if not for the fact that the youths of that state were able to calm themselves down.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a bad precedence he has set and we are advising him to desist from such in the future because his actions are barbaric and unlawful,\u201d Ozobo added.<\/em><\/p>\n

Rivers State has been under emergency rule ordered by President Tinubu over a political dispute between Fubara and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike.<\/a><\/p>\n
