The unions initially insisted that nobody should be sacked,\u201d the employee, who pleaded not to be named in order not to be victimised, stated.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe unions first said nobody should be sacked, but later they allegedly agreed to 800. The affected staff were supposed to start receiving their letters from Monday, but it was delayed, and then yesterday, the affected staff started receiving letters,\u201d another source familiar with the development revealed.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-23954\" src=\"https:\/\/naijaeyesblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/AEDC-Electricity-Installation.webp\" alt=\"AEDC\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" srcset=\"https:\/\/naijaeyesblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/AEDC-Electricity-Installation.webp 640w, https:\/\/naijaeyesblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/AEDC-Electricity-Installation-300x169.webp 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A copy of the disengagement letter titled \u201cNotification of Disengagement from Service\u201d, obtained by The PUNCH, dated November 5, 2025, and signed by AEDC\u2019s Chief Human Resources Officer, Adeniyi Adejola, confirmed that the exercise was part of an \u201congoing rightsizing process.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The letter additionally stated that all affected staff would be paid their due entitlements upon completion of the required exit clearance process.<\/p>\n<p>The letter read in part, \u201cWe regret to inform you that your services with the company will no longer be required, effective 5th November 2025. This decision follows the outcome of the company\u2019s ongoing rightsizing exercise.
