Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, or IPOB, was ordered by trial judge James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja Kanu on Thursday to be bundled out of the courtroom by security personnel.<\/strong><\/h5>\n

This followed Mazi Nnamdi’s<\/a> insistence that the Federal Government’s terrorist accusation against him would not result in a verdict.<\/p>\n

Recall that the detained IPOB leader has previously sacked his defence counsel, claiming that they had insufficient knowledge of the law and insisted on defending himself.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The court abruptly interrupted its proceedings to allow security personnel to remove Kanu from the room after he repeatedly yelled at the trial judge to show him where the law stated that he was not allowed to file a written address in the case against him.<\/p>\n

Stressing that section 306 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015 prohibited the stay of proceedings in a criminal issue, it rejected Kanu’s plea for the case to be referred to the Court of Appeal.<\/p>\n

The court also denied the defendant’s request for bail, stating that it will take into account some of the points Kanu brought up in his arguments during the ruling.<\/p>\n

The IPOB leader protested that the court lacked the authority to decide the matter without acknowledging his written address as the judge tried to start reading the verdict.<\/p>\n
