Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported.<\/p>\n<p>He said,<em> \u201cThe fire started from one of the makeshift stalls within the market compound and rapidly escalated to the main building. The exact cause is yet to be determined. Thankfully, no lives were lost, and no one was injured. Coordinated efforts by all stakeholders ensured the fire was completely extinguished and prevented it from affecting neighbouring structures.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-21000 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/naijaeyesblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Oyo-fire.webp\" alt=\"fire\" width=\"1080\" height=\"606\" srcset=\"https:\/\/naijaeyesblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Oyo-fire.webp 1080w, https:\/\/naijaeyesblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Oyo-fire-300x168.webp 300w, https:\/\/naijaeyesblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Oyo-fire-1024x575.webp 1024w, https:\/\/naijaeyesblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Oyo-fire-768x431.webp 768w, https:\/\/naijaeyesblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Oyo-fire-749x420.webp 749w, https:\/\/naijaeyesblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Oyo-fire-640x359.webp 640w, https:\/\/naijaeyesblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/04\/Oyo-fire-681x382.webp 681w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1080px) 100vw, 1080px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>A post-disaster assessment carried out by the agency confirmed that 48 shops in the Lagos were affected by the blaze.<\/p>\n<p>Oke-Osanyintolu also stressed the importance of fire prevention and preparedness for market traders.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cTraders were sensitised on fire safety measures. The market union was advised to strategically position fire extinguishers to manage minor incidents before they escalate.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Shop owners were further urged to install smoke detectors and fire alarms and remain vigilant against potential fire outbreaks,\u201d he said.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Fire disaster is common in Nigeria especially as the country gradually moves to the dry season.
