The Greater Lagos Fiesta, which was supposed to happen on December 31, 2025, has been formally cancelled by the Lagos State Government.<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Mr. Gboyega Akosile, the Governor’s Special Advisor on Media and Publicity, made the announcement in a statement on Tuesday<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The statement claims that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu accepted the cancellation and encouraged locals to use the time originally reserved for the Greater Lagos Fiesta (Countdown 2026) for introspection and prayers for Lagos State<\/a>, Nigeria, and its citizens.<\/p>\n

Lagos residents were urged by the governor to offer prayers for the state’s sustained prosperity, good leadership, peace, productivity, and general well-being.<\/p>\n

Sanwo-Olu expressed confidence for the upcoming year, characterising it as one full of promise for both Lagos State and the nation at large, while wishing locals a happy and prosperous 2026.<\/p>\n
