The Department of State Services, DSS, has brought a former Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami<\/a>, and his son before the Federal High Court in Abuja on allegations bordering on terrorism financing.<\/strong><\/h5>\n

The defendants were brought before Justice Joyce Abdulmalik on a five-count charge, where they both entered pleas of not guilty.<\/p>\n

Malami is being charged with wilfully aiding and abetting the financing of terrorism by allegedly neglecting to file charges against suspected terrorism financiers whose case files were allegedly delivered to his office while he was the Attorney General of the Federation.<\/p>\n

The DSS further claimed that by illegally holding forbidden weapons and ammunition without the necessary licence, Malami and his son committed preliminary acts connected to terrorism.<\/p>\n

The service also stated that a Sturm Magnum 17-0101 gun, sixteen live Redstar AAA 5.20 cartridges, and twenty-seven used cartridges were found in illegal possession of the defendants.<\/p>\n

Recall that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission(EFCC)<\/a>, had previously detained the former Attorney General on charges of fraud and money laundering, the court was also informed.<\/p>\n
