Singer Rudeboy accused of rape, vows to definitely deal with accuser

Nigerian artist Paul Okoye, better known as Rudeboy of the now defunct P-square, has vowed to find and prosecute an X user who accused him of sexually assaulting a domestic servant. The post has sparked a flurry of online responses.

The issue started when @darkskinnedtemi, a different X user, implied that Rudeboy had cheated on his ex-wife by using a housemaid. Ayomide Agoola (@chubbiedivah), another user, then made a more pointed accusation, saying that the singer “raped/coerced their domestic help.” The user further said that the woman was “probably wayyyy younger” and that “the help… how could she say no?”

In response, social media users expressed both support for Rudeboy and worry for the accuser’s safety. In order to protect herself, several critics advised the accuser to disclose any threats to her life. Others advocated for defamation lawsuits in the event that the charges were false. The accuser’s account was deactivated following the altercation, according to threads and community boards.
