Members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria(IMN), popularly known as Shiites, have taken to the streets of Niger State on Sunday to protest over the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
According to sources, Shiites in Nigeria are led by Ibrahim El-Zakzaky.

Earlier reports revealed that the US and Israeli militaries carried out coordinated airstrikes on Iran, killing Khamenei along with other top Iranian officials.
Shortly after word spread on social media about Khamenei’s purported death, dozens of IMN members mobilised.

In a video quickly circulating social media on Sunday, the followers of the Shi’a cleric, were seen chanting ‘freedom to Iran, death to America ‘.
The protesters also marched through parts of the state chanting solidarity slogans and waving Iranian flags and placards bearing inscriptions such as “We Stand With Iran.”

Meanwhile, following the elimination of Khamanei, a new supreme leader has been appointed by Iranian authorities.
