Popular Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has revealed why she no longer attends physical church services.
In a video shared on Snapchat on Sunday, the actress explained that her presence often draws attention away from the actual service, making it difficult for her to worship freely. According to her, people tend to focus on taking photos of her whenever she attends.
“Anytime I go to church, I am always the one they take pictures of. So I will join online,” she said.
Funke Akindele added that she now prefers to participate in services virtually instead.

Recall that in 2022, Akindele publicly identified with the Celestial Church of Christ, stating that she used to quietly visit the church at night whenever she faced challenges before openly embracing her faith.
Backsrory…
Popular Nollywood actress Funke Akindele has over the years been open about her faith and spiritual journey. In 2022, she publicly identified with the Celestial Church of Christ, revealing that she used to visit the church quietly at night whenever she faced personal challenges.
However, her status as a public figure has made it difficult for her to maintain that same private worship experience. Recently, she disclosed that whenever she attends church physically, the focus often shifts to her, with people taking photos instead of concentrating on the service.
This recurring distraction eventually influenced her decision to step back from attending in person, opting instead to participate in church services online where she can worship without interruptions.
