Former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has claimed that President Bola Tinubu is battling health challenges and is currently managing his condition.

Sowore also alleged that Senate President Godswill Akpabio is critically ill.
He made these assertions on Sunday while offering his explanation for President Tinubu’s sudden trip abroad, presenting them as his personal claims rather than official information.
Tinubu, who was in Lagos State for the Christmas and New Year holiday, left Nigeria for Europe today.
A statement by Tinubu’s spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, said the president is also scheduled for an official visit to Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.
Onanuga added that the president will participate in the 2026 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week Summit at the invitation of the UAE President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Posting on X, Sowore wrote: “Nigeria’s Bola Ahmed Tinubu is unwell just managing himself, reason he’s abruptly flown to ‘Europe’ today @Senator_Akpabio is practically dying, why is Nigeria governed by sick people?
“And whereas nothing is wrong with illnesses it is callous to use a country as health insurance for sick leaders.”
