Gov Alex Otti, the governor of Abia State, has been invited to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) by Benjamin Kalu, the deputy speaker of the House of Representatives.
At a Town Hall meeting he hosted in his rural house in Agbamuzu, Bende Local Government Area, on Monday, Kalu made the announcement and promised Gov Alex Otti his total support in the event that he defected.
“Let me tell you, I want to use this opportunity again, publicly, to invite Governor Alex Otti to join our party.
“If he comes to our party, we will support him,” he said.
He claimed that the APC was still open to leaders who were prepared to cooperate in order to fortify the organisation and forward its political goals in Abia.
The Deputy Speaker went on to say that returning home was always an honour and that both the legislature and the administration of President Bola Tinubu worked for Nigerians.
He further stated that he was motivated by the conviction that Nigeria’s brightest days were still to come and that he remained answerable to his constituents.

The legislator also urged Nigerians to back the APC, the President, and its Renewed Hope Agenda.
He underlined that the administration led by Tinubu was creating a lasting legacy for coming generations.
