Victor Boniface considers his relationship with his father and says, “I only met my him once.”
A moving insight on his connection with his late father, Mr. Okoh Boniface, has been given by Nigerian striker Victor Boniface.
Boniface lost both of his parents to the icy grasp of death, leaving him an orphan. He was reared by his grandparents in a military barrack in Akure, Ondo State, after losing his mother when he was a small child.
He said, “My dad na from Jos and mum from Edo state, I grew up with my mum family, once before I went to Europe.”Since making his Bundesliga debut as a starter last season, Boniface has rapidly established himself as a notable performer for Bayer Leverkusen.
He played a key role in the team winning the Bundesliga with five games remaining. He was the team’s top player at the end of his rookie season with 14 goals.
In September 2023, Boniface made his debut for the Nigerian senior squad, the Super Eagles, helping Samuel Chukwueze and taking Taiwo Awoniyi’s place in the 64th minute.
