The quarterfinals of the Carabao Cup between Tottenham and Manchester United ended in a 7-goal thriller between the two teams. The match played at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium ended 4-3 with Tottenham emerging victorious over the Red Devils.

The referee for the match was John Brooks, who gave out six yellow cards in the match, three cards apiece to each team.

Tottenham took the lead in the 15th minute through Dominic Solanke to make it 1-0, before adding two more in the second half of the match through Kulusevski in the 46th minute and Solanke again in the 54th minute.

The London club were leading 3-0 before an equalizer to make it 3-1, coming from substitute Joshua Zirkzee in the 63rd minute, who came in for Red Devils’ striker Hojlund.

Amad Diallo, who has been on a good run of form under new Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim, came in as a substitute to score in the 70th minute to make it 3-2.

However, Korean’s Heung-min Son dashed United’s hope by scoring in the 88th minute to make it 4-2 and to put the game to bed. Johnny Evans, who also came in as a substitute to replace Lindelof, scored in the 90+4 minutes to reduce the scoreline gap of 2 goals to just one goal, ending the match on a 4-3 scoreline.

Things didn’t go United’s way with the first half tactics, as the team lost good ball possession and wasn’t showing a real threat to Tottenham’s defense.
