Boxing legend Mike Tyson made his comeback return to the ring on Friday, barely 20 years after his last professional bout against Irish heavyweight Kevin McBride in 2005.

Tyson’s return to boxing was marred with a defeat on Friday against popular YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul, who won the fight by winning the majority decision against the heavyweight legend in Texas.

The bout saw Mike Tyson go fist-to-fist with Jake Paul. Several punches were exchanged, but Jake Paul had the upper hand in delivering more punches to Tyson. He showed his advantage to the 58-year-old through his speed and agility.

However, the younger fighter could not deliver the knockout punch he threatened during Thursday’s heated weigh-in, in which Tyson slapped him across the face.

Statistics show that Tyson landed only 18 out of 97 punches thrown, while Jake Paul landed 78 out of 278 punches thrown.

As the match came to a close in the eighth round, Tyson could be seen as being tired and unable to land a punch.

Both fighters reportedly earned a whopping $60 million between them. Jake Paul had the larger sum, with $40 million going to him and his Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) company, while Tyson carted away $20 million.

Mike Tyson has since hinted this won’t be his last fight and might seek a rematch against Jake Paul.
