Nigeria ranks higher than Cameroon, Ghana, South Africa, and Norway, according to FIFA rankings.
Despite dropping eight places in the latest FIFA ranking, the Super Eagles of Nigeria maintain a higher position than their African rivals like Ghana, South Africa, and Cameroon, as well as Erling Haaland’s Norway.
Nigeria’s decline to 38th place in the rankings, down from 30th in April, reflects their recent underwhelming performances, including a draw with South Africa and a loss to Benin Republic in World Cup qualifiers. Despite these setbacks, Nigeria remains the fifth-ranked team in Africa, behind Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, and Cote d’Ivoire.
In contrast, South Africa ranks 59th globally, Cameroon 49th, and Ghana 64th, indicating Nigeria’s continued edge over these teams despite its recent ranking drop. The Super Eagles also outrank nations like Scotland, Chile, and Norway in the latest FIFA standings.
