Federation Cup Finals Set for June 29th
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has officially scheduled the Federation Cup finals for both men and women on Saturday, June 29th. The grand event will take place at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja. This date not only aligns with the CAF deadline but also concludes the domestic competitions for the season.
Stage of the Competitions
The women’s competition is currently in the quarter-final stage, while the men’s teams are preparing for the semi-finals. This final push towards the grand finale will determine the clubs representing Nigeria in the continental tournaments.
Sanusi’s Statement on the Decision
NFF General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi, in a statement shared by the NFF, explained the rationale behind the chosen date. He noted, “Having looked closely at our programmes, the stage the men and women competitions are at the moment and the need to submit the names of all our representative clubs to CAF for African Club Competitions next season, we have reached a consensus for the grand finale of the men and women finals of the President Federation Cup to take place on Saturday, June 29.”
He further detailed the schedule for the finals: the women’s final will begin at 1 pm, followed by the men’s final at 4 pm, both held at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
