It may seem that the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu still has trace elements of PTSD received from Barcelona’s thrashing 4-0 thrashing of its home team, Real Madrid. The home side lost at home again in front of its frustrated fans but this time to Italian giants, AC Milan.

The match between Real Madrid and AC Milan started with Madrid being seen as the favorite to edge the encounter. In the 12th minute, Malick Thiaw put the visitors ahead and Vinícius Júnior equalized in the 23rd minute to put Madrid on level terms.

Just before the end of the first half, Álvaro Morata put the visitors ahead again to make it 1-2. Several changes such as tactics and substitutes were made in the second half by both teams with Madrid looking to equalize.

However, T. Reijnders made it 1-3 for the visitors in the 73rd minute, signifying the dominance AC Milan held over Madrid at home.

The match ended with Madrid having more ball possession, with 57%, and leading other statistics in corners and yellow cards. Still, it wasn’t enough for them to secure the point at Estadio Santiago Bernabéu.

This loss makes it Madrid’s second loss in a row to big and highly-ranked teams in the world.
