Xavi Hernández has been sacked as Barcelona manager.
Barcelona announced that Xavi Hernández will not continue as the first team manager for the 2024-25 season, despite having a contract until June 2025. Club president Joan Laporta made the announcement, thanking Xavi for his contributions and wishing him well. Xavi will still manage Barcelona’s final game of the season against Sevilla on Sunday. Reports suggest his influence in the locker room has been waning, with senior players doubting his tactics and leadership.
