WAEC: Anger, shock, frustration as 61% fail exams
Some students in Taraba State were reportedly found sitting for their West African Examination Council (WAEC) exam at night, much later after examination hours. The students were seen in what appeared to be a poorly lit classroom taking the exam.

As of the time of filing the report, no official reason or statement confirming the development was given by the WAEC body regarding the delayed examination which was scheduled to hold at 8 am.

According to reports, parents who came to look for their wards were later informed that the students were taking the alleged English language WAEC paper.

The displeasured parents described the action inappropriate and requested an apology from the testing organisation.

Given that the candidates will be taking another paper the following day, they said that the exam body ought to have postponed the exam rather than putting them through hardship.

They claimed that the state has never seen such a situation.
