In an unusual and emotional twist of events, a survivor has been found alive after 11 days following the tragic balogun market fire outbreak which led to the collapse of a building on Lagos Island.
Traders and locals were startled by the devastation and fatalities at the Great Nigeria House, which is situated in a busy market neighbourhood. According to reports, the victim was stuck beneath the debris and was found during continuing rescue efforts after the prospect of finding survivors had all but vanished.

Given the length of time spent beneath the Balogun market fire rubble, the fact that the person was rescued alive was regarded by many as a miracle. Residents, store owners, and onlookers were terrified and panicked as the building collapsed after catching fire on Christmas Eve.

The News of the development has since sparked reactions across social media. While some have attributed it to miraculous divine intervention, others have criticized the pace of emergency response.

@Kie said : Insane survival, pure luck and resilience. But if its ‘only God’, why save him and not the 8 who died? Selective miracles? Nah just random chance.

The cause of the fire and the structural failure are still being investigated, and officials have been urged again to enhance local safety protocols and rescue readiness.
