Tinubu’s Tax Reform Bills Sail Through House of Representatives

President Tinubu’s tax reform bill sent to the National Assembly has successfully sailed through the third reading by the house of representative members after series of heated arguments and debates.

The House of Representatives approved the finance committee’s report on the tax reform bills during Thursday’s plenary session, following the committee’s review of submissions from Nigerians.

The four bills include; the Nigeria Tax Administration Bill HB.1756; the Nigeria Revenue Service (Establishment Bill) HB.1757; the Joint Revenue Board Bill, HB.1758 and the Nigeria Tax Bill HB.1759.

The bills has since then sparked several controversies with Northern leaders and members of the Nigerian governors forum opposing the bill and requesting the national assembly and members of the house of representatives to reject the bills and further demanding a  fair, objective and unbiased implementation across all regions.
