OpenAI Unveils $20K/Month AI Agents for Advanced Tasks
According to reports from the Information, OpenAI is planning to charge up to $20,000 per month for specialized AI “agents.”
The report states that OpenAI is trying to roll out more “agent” products with different applications, from sorting and ranking sales leads to software engineering.
One of those, called a high-income knowledge worker agent, is understood to be priced at $2,000 monthly. Another software developer agent is most likely to cost $10,000 a month.
The most expensive agent supported by OpenAI will be in the bracket of $20,000 per month, aimed at PhD-level research, according to The Information.
It is not known when the agentic tools would be launched or who would be eligible to buy them. However, The Information reports that OpenAI investor SoftBank has promised to invest $3 billion in OpenAI’s agent products during this financial year.
OpenAI badly needs the money; the company estimated a loss of around $5 billion last year after paying for costs associated with running its services, among other expenses.
