The president further approved the posting of Amin Dalhatu, a former Nigerian ambassador to South Korea, as the high commissioner designate to the United Kingdom. These ambassador postings are expected to strengthen Nigeria’s diplomatic engagements with major global partners.

Also included is Usman Isa Dakingari Suleiman, a former governor of Kebbi State, who has been appointed as the ambassador designate to Turkey. His posting comes ahead of President Tinubu’s scheduled state visit to Turkey next week, adding significance to Tinubu’s approval.

“In a memo to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, President Tinubu urged the ministry to notify the governments of the four countries about the ambassador designates, in accordance with diplomatic procedures,” the statement reads.

It will be recalled that in December last year, the Nigerian Senate screened and confirmed 68 ambassadorial nominations by President Tinubu. These latest postings mark the first phase of deploying the confirmed envoys to their respective foreign missions.
