Tinubu Approves Plateau Forest Guards Recruitment of 1,000 Youths to Boost Security
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the recruitment of 1000 youths as Plateau forest guards as part of efforts to strengthen security across the state. The initiative is aimed at improving safety, especially in rural communities affected by recurring security challenges.

The approval was disclosed by Vice President Kashim Shettima on Tuesday during an event organized in honor of Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang, who recently joined the All Progressives Congress party (APC).
Shettima said the Plateau forest guards recruitment reflects the Federal Government’s commitment to addressing insecurity at the grassroots.

According to the vice president, the newly recruited forest guards will be deployed across Plateau State to enhance surveillance and protect vulnerable communities. He noted that the move is particularly targeted at areas impacted by violent clashes between farmers and herders.
“The president has given the go ahead for 1,000 youths to be employed as forest guards across Plateau. The dividends of democracy will begin to be felt within the next three weeks,” Shettima said.

He further urged residents to support ongoing federal security initiatives to ensure lasting peace in the state. Shettima also assured that beyond the Plateau forest guards recruitment, more development projects would be rolled out to improve the welfare of the people.
