According to a notice signed by Secretary to the Federation, Senator George Akume, two cabinet members in the person of Wale Edun and Arc Ahmed Musa Dangiwa are to exit the cabinet while their replacements have been announced.

Prior to the most recent event, Walw Edun served as the Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance. He has been instructed to turn over to Mr. Oyedele, who will now assume the role of Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance.

The memo further states that “all handing over and taking over processes should be completed on or before the close of business on Thursday, 23rd April, 2026.”

Akume noted that “These changes are aimed at strengthening cohesion, synergy in governance as well as achieving more impactful delivery on the economy to Nigerians, through the Renewed Hope Agenda.”
