The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Rashidi Ladoja, was received by President Bola Tinubu on Friday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The visit , which took place less than four months after Ladoja’s installation is the monarch’s first official meeting with the president since his installation and it comes only a day after Oyo Governor Seyi Makinde paid the president a visit at the State House.

Ladoja, who served as Governor of Oyo State between May 2003 and January 2006, assumed the throne as the 44th Olubadan following the death of his predecessor, Owolabi Olakulehin, in July 2025.
Ladoja emerged as Olubadan in line with Ibadan’s rotational chieftaincy system, which alternates between the civil (Egbe Agba) and military (Balogun) ruling lines. The late Olakulehin hailed from the Balogun line.
Tinubu, who was present at Ladoja’s coronation ceremony in Ibadan, called it a celebration of custom, solidarity, and shared heritage.
