President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has endorsed the appointment of retired Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Idris Adamu as the new Chairman of the Military Pensions Board, effective December 1, 2025.

The announcement was contained in a statement released on Tuesday by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
The appointment is intended to improve transparency, accountability, and overall efficiency in the administration of military pensions.
Adamu, a distinguished senior officer of the Nigerian Air Force and an accomplished financial professional, has held several key positions.
These include directing staff at the Armed Forces Command and Staff College, deputy director of budget at the Defence Intelligence Agency, and principal staff officer (finance) at the Air Warfare Centre.
He also previously headed the 081 Pay and Accounting Group and went on to serve as director of finance at the Nigerian Air Force headquarters, as well as managing director of the Nigerian Air Force Investment Limited.

Adamu later joined the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, as a directing staff.
President Tinubu has urged him to uphold integrity, show unwavering patriotism, and apply his financial expertise to enhance the welfare of military veterans.
